Since 1890, we have focused on learning, leadership and service. Our sought-after graduates are progressive. They are engaged and often change-agents or entrepreneurs who make a difference in their communities. They are the kind of people who continue to learn and serve others long after they graduate. If that sounds like you, then the University of Saint Francis is the perfect place to be. The university's academic programs will help you develop problem-solving skills, effective communication, technological competence and an understanding of our complex world. You will be enriched by meaningful learning experiences inside and outside the classroom to prepare you as a productive and competent leader. Aside from regional accreditation, we have 27 specialty accreditations that ensure the highest quality education. It is this foundation that makes our graduates highly valued by employers. In 1944 the college was relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana, on the 65-acre former estate of Fort Wayne industrialist John Bass. Within a few years, the number of laywomen students exceeded the number of sister students, and in 1957 the first men were admitted.
